She's not Boring!

Madisson (Madi) Boring is an impact-driven public relations and marketing professional passionate about connecting people and organizations through creative storytelling. She graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism this past May with her Bachelor of Science in Journalism (Strategic Communication) and minor in marketing.

Madi kicked off 2019 interning as a public relations assistant at the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), an Endeavor property. Throughout her seven-month internship in New York City, she gained a wealth of experience in different facets of PR including media relations, content creation, talent management and event planning, among others. Madi led publicity efforts that produced ground-breaking coverage ahead of 2019 MISS USA® and pitched, as well as facilitated, stories that garnered national attention in outlets such asYahoo! News, Marie Claire and Insider. This past November, Madi traveled to Atlanta to re-join the MUO public relations team for the 2019 MISS UNIVERSE® competition. During her few weeks on location, she facilitated two press junkets and two press conferences while managing over 250 credentialed media outlets.

In 2018, Madi spent her summer interning with Cision in Cleveland, OH. Here, she developed an in-depth understanding of an industry-leading PR software — the Cision Communications Cloud — to evaluate paid, earned and owned media effects of various campaigns. Upon returning to campus in the fall, she led her sorority as recruitment and marketing vice president where she managed recruitment efforts for nearly 800 prospective members and increased formal recruitment retention rates by 17 percent.

While Madi's passion lies in PR, her interests and expertise are multifaceted. Her desire for continuous learning is made evident through her collegiate endeavors, including her time as a research associate for Ohio University’s Center for Consumer Research & Analytics and as an active member in the Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre.

With three public relations internships and a unique blend of campus leadership experiences, Madi brings a unique and refined perspective to each project she pursues. Beyond PR, Madi is deeply passionate about influencing social change and leaving each person and company better than she found it.
